A teacher’s success is not only in imparting knowledge to students but also in teaching them to become useful people.
LTS: As a teacher with more than 30 years standing on the podium, teacher Le Thi Thanh Ha, a former physics teacher at Kon Tum High School, Kon Tum province, is very passionate about the issue: “Educational innovation must come from each teacher.”
According to Ms. Thanh Ha, the role of the teacher has a great influence on the personality and intellectual development of students.
To carry out this responsibility, Ms. Ha said, first of all, each teacher must have innovation in awareness and action, self-assess their abilities, change themselves, and discover their own abilities. their own abilities and teach them to discover their own abilities.
However, in reality, many colleagues are confused and do not know if innovation comes from where? How to innovate?.
The article below by teacher Thanh Ha will take readers to her record-breaking content.
To introduce the readers.
As for myself, in the past I only had the habit of mainly reading professional books for teaching purposes. In 2012, I accidentally read the book “I’m talented, so are you by Adamkhoo”, this book helped me completely break down rigid stereotypes about students, such as: Student A just needs to go. Being late twice means I think she’s undisciplined.
Student B got bad grades twice and I immediately “assumed” that the student was weak! That has made students lose confidence in themselves and not be able to exploit their full potential.
After that, I often read more books by successful people, books on how to be human in the world, specifically books: A better mother is a good teacher by Doan Kien Loi; 7 habits of successful young people Sean Covey; The 8th Habit by Stephen R.Covey.
Along with learning from books and searching for information through social networks, I am determined to make a “revolution” to change myself in educating students.
The first job I do is to spend a lot of time getting close and listening to the children to understand, encourage and especially put faith in them. Regularly tell students close, highly educational stories…

Along with that, create an environment for children to develop and discover themselves by encouraging them to express themselves in group activities such as:
Organize class president elections; Self-organizing creative collective games… Initial results almost all of the students have had a clear change in attitude, way of life and learning effectiveness.
“I’m talented! You too” is a topic that has appeared in recent years about the field of advanced education that has received public attention and support. The influence of this new stream of thought I personally want to explore and experience.
I also really like the opinion of famous American educator William Arthur Ward: “Teaching involves more than just imparting knowledge, it requires inspiring change. Learning involves more than just acquiring knowledge, it requires understanding.”
Therefore, I have applied this method in physics classes and classes according to the open education program right in the class I teach and homeroom, and the tutoring class at home.
To test my direction, I would like to participate in a practical experience with colleagues at Tran Quoc Tuan school, Dak Ha district, Kon Tum province, where Mr. Phan Duc is the principal.
After more than a year of implementation, with the strong support of the school Board of Directors, I was able to conduct a talk with 49 teachers with the content of changing teachers’ perceptions to effectively educate students. ;
Organized nearly 40 extracurricular sessions with the themes: “Changing habits for success”, “The value of love”, “The value of responsibility and discipline”… for nearly 1,000 students.
And nearly 1,400 students of the following categories: excellent, good, average and weak at 3 schools: Tran Quoc Tuan High School in Dak Ha district, Kon Tum High School (in class 12 A5, 12A7 I am the homeroom teacher) and Students in the classes I teach at school and tutor at home at 2 schools: Kon Tum High School, Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted.
Still not satisfied with what I have done, wanting to learn about how to educate students more effectively, through reference information sources, I learned about a model with a very effective open education program at Dinh school. At Tien Hoang Hanoi, I packed my bags and headed to the place to study.
After 3 days of “seeing with my own eyes, hearing with my own ears” and directly teaching 2 classes in class about the 7 habits of successful youth education program, I have harvested 3 very interesting issues that I would like to share:
First: School leaders have created a pedagogical environment in the direction: “We are happy when the children are happy and their families are happy.
In this place there is no pedagogy of authority and grace, but only a pedagogy of democratic cooperation.” Since then, teachers have truly been able to work to which they have committed wholeheartedly and are passionate about creativity.
Second: The school’s greatest success is to inspire and foster children’s confidence through the dedicated and friendly attitude of the entire teaching staff, and through the open education programs that the school has implemented such as teaching Life skills, life values and 7 habits of successful youth.
Third: To evaluate the teaching and educational effectiveness of teachers, the school used student feedback, so teachers promptly adjusted themselves to meet the needs of learners.
Although the time to implement the above work is not long, the initial results are very surprising. Here are some quotes from teachers and students:
Based on my own experience in education and the feedback results of teachers and students from the survey and experience. I would like to boldly point out some necessary work on the issue of comprehensive educational innovation as follows:
Firstly, quickly introduce a model that has a lot of experience and effectively implements educational work like Dinh Tien Hoang school (Hanoi) to use it as a lesson for schools across the country.
Second, regularly organize meetings to exchange experiences to gradually form a core team to take on a pioneering role in educational innovation.
Third, create motivation to change students’ perceptions by organizing extracurricular sessions for students. Through extracurricular sessions that inspire living and learning, awakening their own needs so that they can build their own personality to live, study and do useful things for themselves, their families and society. .
Fourth, change the way teachers are evaluated. Teachers must be evaluated from two sides (teacher and student). Teachers must receive feedback on the quality of their education from students.
My personal opinions with the first goal being “Breaking my own record” to contribute my small contribution to the reform of the country’s education system.
Offering this opinion, I have no ambition other than the desire to send teachers a message: let’s break our own records in a positive way, so that every day going to school is truly a success. happy day.
